Wanna Save the Planet?

And not JUST on Earth Day? Guess what-Vegetarianism IS Environmentalism.

Did you know:

-Raising animals for food is responsible for more greenhouse gases than the ENTIRE transportation sector?

-To produce one pound of beef takes between 2500 and 5200 gallons of water... so, by giving up just ONE POUND of beef, you could save double the water you'd save by skipping a year's worth of 7-minute showers?

-Adopting a vegetarian diet can shrink your carbon footprint by up to 1.5 tons of carbon dioxide a year? (In comparison, trading a standard car for a hybrid cuts about one ton-according to a 2005 University of Chicago study.)

If you are having a hard time wrapping your brain around giving up animal products, or even just cutting meat out of your diet, try this on for size: Can you not eat meat one day a week? No beef, no chicken, no fish. NO MEAT, just one day. Trust me, it's easier than you think, and the impact can be huge.

Think you can't make a difference? Even one drop of water wets the bucket.

Go Green. Go Veg.

Happy Earth Day.
